A December catch up!
Hello!
It’s been a bit of a hectic old time one way or another around here! I can’t quite believe we are nearing the end of October, and it’s been a few months since I last wrote anything here.
Some promotional things up first
Most importantly, I wanted to let you know that Christmas Pet Portrait Commissions are indeed OPEN! I have limited spaces available do so book in sooner rather than later. Click here to find out more and secure your space!
Secondly, I have brought back Big Stretch t-shirts for the festive season! They are available on a pre-order basis, and will be shipped towards the end of November.
And lastly, I am going to be selling my wares with Tea Green Events at Kelvingrove Museum in Glasgow on the 3rd December. This will be a brilliant Festive Market with a huge line-up of really talented artists & makers - not to be missed if you’re in the area!
And in other news…
I have spent the last couple of months working away on lots of lovely Pet Portraits. After a very quiet year it’s felt very nice to be busy again!
Although it’s pretty cold I am enjoying the change in the season and welcoming all the beautiful colours of Autumn. We are very settled into life in the countryside, and love it even more at this time of year. The trees look different each morning when I look outside, and I love noticing all the changes happening in nature with the season. A bumper crop of apples from the garden was a bonus too - plenty of apple crumbles and sponges to come!
I managed a little drawing trip last month too, whilst out on a walk with Jeffers at Glen Finglas. It felt good just to let loose with my pencils and draw without really thinking about it - I don’t do this often enough!
In the coming weeks I’m going to be busy getting stuff prepared for the upcoming market, and working on more pet portraits. I am hoping I can pull together a calendar with some work from my sketchbooks - I did have good intentions of creating brand new work for a calendar but sadly it just didn’t happen! I do have some favourite drawings that are hidden away in my sketchbooks so it’ll be good to have an excuse to use them for something. I’m just very aware of the time ticking away but I am optimistic I can make it happen!
There’s also a studio-refresh on the horizon which is very exciting. Normally my husband and I share the space, but he has decided to try and move his workspace down to the wee summerhouse in the garden, so I can have the whole studio in the house to myself. I’m even going to have a dedicated desk for packing orders and cutting paper- that’s about as exciting as things get round here! Looking forward to having more space, and I’m hopeful that it’ll help me feel a bit more motivated to make some new work too.
I hope you are doing well and enjoying Autumn so far. Please do get in touch if you have any questions about commissions, or would just like to say hello. I always love hearing from people!
Warm wishes,
Fiona
